Regular Season Round 2: M.Hainaut - Leuven 90-83

Date: October 13, 2012
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Leuven Bears (1-1) against sixth ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (1-1) on Saturday night. Visiting Leuven Bears were defeated by Belfius Mons-Hainaut in a tough game in Quaregnon 83-90. American forward Justin Cage (198-85, college: Xavier, agency: Priority Sports) notched 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) supported him with 21 points. Four Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. Belfius Mons-Hainaut's coach Yves Defraigne used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 27 points and 6 assists by international point guard Niels Marnegrave (191-87) did not help to save the game for Leuven Bears. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (200-90, college: Murray St.) added 22 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Belfius Mons-Hainaut left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Leuven Bears. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will meet Liege Basket (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Leuven Bears will play against the league's leader Okapi Aalstar (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
