Top-ranked Latvian Valmiera (2-0) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Lithuanian LSU-Baltai (0-2) 68-66 in the fight for the first place. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 25-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. LSU-Baltai was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch.
