Regular Season Round 3: Pi Koleji - Yesilgiresun 106-102

Very predictable result in Ankara where tenth ranked Pi Koleji (2-1) beat bottom-ranked Yesilgiresun (0-3) 106-102 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Pi Koleji made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Serhan Kavut (189-81) who scored 32 points and 9 assists. Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) who recorded 38 points (!!!), 8 assists and 5 steals (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Gokper Gen (189-89) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Five Pi Koleji and four Yesilgiresun players scored in double figures. Pi Koleji moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Yesilgiresun still closes the standings with three games lost. Pi Koleji will face Akhisar Bld (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Yesilgiresun will play against the league's leader Balikesir (#1) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
