Everything could happen in Vilnius at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Lithuanian Sakalai and 5th ranked Estonian BC Rakvere had identical 1-1 record. This time Sakalai used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Rakvere 89-66 on Friday night. The game without a history. Sakalai led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sakalai outrebounded BC Rakvere 48-34 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. BC Rakvere was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Tomas Cerneckis (190-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Aivaras Kiausas (199-80) contributed with 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Sakalai players scored in double figures. point guard Reimo Tamm (185-84) answered with 12 points and 7 rebounds and American-Estonian forward Renato Lindmets (200-84, college: Westfield St.) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for BC Rakvere. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sakalai (2-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with Valmiera. Loser BC Rakvere dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Sakalai will face league's leader Rudupis in Prienai in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Rakvere will play at home against Tln Kalev in Tallinn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
