Very expected game when bottom-ranked Estonian Tln Kalev (0-4) was smashed by leader Lithuanian Rudupis (5-0) in Prienai 101-53 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rudupis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tln Kalev's 36. Rudupis forced 19 Tln Kalev turnovers and outrebounded them 45-27 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Tln Kalev's players. Forward Arnas Labuckas (203-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-90) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Rudupis players scored in double figures. Nigerian forward Ike Okoye (206, college: Boise St.) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Bahamas forward Jamaal Douglas (201-85, college: E.Kentucky, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Tln Kalev. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rudupis have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Loser Tln Kalev still closes the standings with four games lost. Rudupis will face league's second-placed Sakalai in Vilnius in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tln Kalev will play on the road against BC Rakvere (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
