Regular Season Round 7: IMOS Brno - DSK Karlin 85-53

No shocking result in a game when second ranked IMOS Brno (6-1) crushed at home 7th ranked DSK Karlin (2-4) 85-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by IMOS Brno. DSK Karlin managed to win fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. IMOS Brno dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to DSK Karlin's 36. They outrebounded DSK Karlin 42-30 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when IMOS Brno made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for Swedish forward Farhiya Abdi (188-92) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Nicole Ohlde (193-82, college: Kansas St.) accounted for 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Four IMOS Brno players scored in double figures. American forward Arnika Brown (187-87, college: W.Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) came up with 4 points and 12 rebounds and Bulgarian center Aleksandra Delcheva (202-87, agency: Promotex) added 12 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for DSK Karlin in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. IMOS Brno maintains second place with 6-1 record having just -1 point less than leader USK Praha, which they share with Trutnov and Hradec Kralove. Loser DSK Karlin dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. IMOS Brno will meet VSE Praha (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. DSK Karlin will play against Basket Slovanka MB in Vodochody and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
