Very expected game in Bamberg where 14th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (1-4) was defeated by seventh ranked Brose Baskets (3-1) 85-73. The game was mostly controlled by Brose Baskets. Mitteldeutscher BC was better in third quarter 21-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Slovakian point guard Anton Gavel (188-84, agency: Pro One Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. Slovenian forward Bostjan Nachbar (207-80) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Devin Uskoski (201-85, college: Rocky Mountain) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Chad Timberlake (194-84, college: Fair Dickinson) added 20 points in the effort for Mitteldeutscher BC. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with TBB Trier. Newly promoted Mitteldeutscher BC dropped to the bottom position with four games lost. Brose Baskets' next round opponent will be LTi 46ers (#17) in Giessen which should be an easy win for them. Mitteldeutscher BC will play at home against Walter Tigers in Tuebingen.
