BK Usti nad Labem can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat BK Lions Hradec (1-6) 81-71. Strangely BK Lions Hradec outrebounded BK Usti nad Labem 42-30 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. BK Lions Hradec was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Brad Reese (199-88, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Albert Nolen (185-89, college: Minnesota) contributed with 15 points, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Reese is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five BK Usti nad Labem players scored in double figures. Center Jan Tomanec (205-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Jan Pavlik (186-78, agency: Court Side) added 13 points in the effort for BK Lions Hradec. BK Lions Hradec's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. BK Usti nad Labem left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with J.Hradec. It was BK Lions Hradec's sixth loss in a row. BK Usti nad Labem will play against league's second-placed NH Ostrava on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BK Lions Hradec will play against BK Decin (#5) to get more than just one victory in their record.
