Regular Season Round 4: Crocodiles - Kings 87-92

Date: October 26, 2012
Bottom-ranked Townsville Crocodiles (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-87 loss to sixth ranked Kings (3-2) in Wulguru on Friday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-87. Kings made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Aaron Bruce (190-84) who added 25 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Gary Ervin (183-83, college: Arkansas) responded with 16 points and 5 assists and center Ben Allen (211-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Kings and four Townsville Crocodiles players scored in double figures. Townsville Crocodiles' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kings moved-up to fourth place. Loser Townsville Crocodiles still closes the standings with five games lost. Kings will meet at home Adelaide 36ers (#5) in the next round. Townsville Crocodiles will play against Melbourne Tigers and hope to get finally their first victory.
