Regular Season Round 4: Boncourt - SAV Vacallo 83-79

LNA round 4 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader SAV Vacallo (3-1) against sixth ranked Boncourt (3-1) 83-79 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SAV Vacallo. It was a key game for the top position in the league. SAV Vacallo was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded SAV Vacallo 32-20 including 20 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jackson Capel (191-87, college: Evangel) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!). The other American import swingman Shy Ely (194-87, college: Evansville, agency: Merit Sports) contributed with 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American power forward Matt Schneiderman (204-81, college: N.Iowa) replied with 21 points and Greek center Mihalis Kakiouzis (206-76, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for SAV Vacallo. Boncourt keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated SAV Vacallo. SAV Vacallo will play next round against strong Lugano Tigers trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Boncourt will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked BBC Nyon on the road.
