The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Okapi Aalstar (3-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (2-2) 82-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Okapi Aalstar. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Brian Qvale (210-88, college: Montana) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Jonathan Wallace (187-86, college: Georgetown, agency: Pro One Sports) who added 21 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) responded with 19 points and Samoan-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Belfius Mons-Hainaut moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Antwerp and Oostende. Okapi Aalstar at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Spirou and Liege. Belfius Mons-Hainaut is looking forward to face higher ranked Spirou Charleroi (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Okapi Aalstar will play against the league's second-placed Liege Basket in Liege and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
