There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Aiolos Trikallon (1-2) outscored at home higher ranked Agia Paraskevis (1-2) 101-74 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aiolos Trikallon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 61.7 percent from the field. Aiolos Trikallon forced 19 Agia Paraskevis turnovers and outrebounded them 32-11 including a 23-7 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aiolos Trikallon shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. It was a great evening for forward Giannis Papachristos (194-80) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Nikos Kaklamanos (189-81, agency: FCM) helped adding 24 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Aiolos Trikallon players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Vangelis Tsiakas (194-81) with 22 points and forward Nikos Psileas (200-80) scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Aiolos Trikallon left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Agia Paraskevis. Aiolos Trikallon will meet bottom-ranked OFI (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Agia Paraskevis will play against Pagrati (#7) in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
