Regular Season Round 4: Bulleen B. - Townsville F. 87-59
Date: October 27, 2012
The game in Melbourne supposed to be also quite interesting. 5th ranked Townsville Fire (2-3) played at the court of seventh ranked Bulleen Boomers (2-3). Bulleen Boomers smashed Townsville Fire 87-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Bulleen Boomers. Townsville Fire was better in second period 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Bulleen Boomers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Townsville Fire's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international Rachel Jarry (185-91) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and international center Elyse Penaluna (193-88) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Bulleen Boomers players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Mia Newley (184-88) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Kayla Standish (187-89, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bulleen Boomers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Townsville F. and Logan T. Townsville Fire lost third consecutive game. Bulleen Boomers will face league's second-placed Adelaide Lightning on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Townsville Fire will play against Dandenong Rangers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
