Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: MIA (#4) and Sokhumi (#7). MIA (2-0) won against visiting Sokhumi (0-2) 100-90. MIA dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Sokhumi's 26 and made 30-of-39 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Sokhumi 43-31 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. MIA players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Sokhumi was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) notched a double-double by scoring 30 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Chad Prewitt (206-80, college: Arizona St., agency: Priority Sports) supported him with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Even 29 points and 4 assists by forward Irakli Chlaidze (199-89) did not help to save the game for Sokhumi. Guard Rati Baakashvili (190-92) added 15 points and 6 assists for the guests. Four Sokhumi players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. MIA keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Dinamo Tbilisi and Rustavi. Sokhumi at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. MIA's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi TSU.
