Regular Season Round 5: UCC Demons - DCU Saints 83-82

The most exciting game of round 5 in the Superleague took place in Cork. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed DCU Saints (3-2) to leader UCC Demons (5-0) 83-82 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of DCU Saints. UCC Demons looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by DCU Saints' players. Australian forward Kenton Walker II (205-84, college: St.Mary's, CA) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Shane Coughlan (188-79) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Forward Patrick Glover (193-77) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and guard Keith Anderson (188-89) scored 17 points and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UCC Demons have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. DCU Saints at the other side keep the third position with two games lost. UCC Demons are looking forward to face Killester (#6) in Dublin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. DCU Saints will play at home against B.Gais Neptune in Cork and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
