There was an upset when higher ranked Fjolnir (3-2) was crushed on the road by tenth ranked Keflavik (2-3) 91-69 on Thursday. The game without a history. Keflavik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Fjolnir's 46. They outrebounded Fjolnir 57-35 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Keflavik made 11 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU, agency: Ronsport) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Sylvester Spicer (198-86, college: Rogers St.) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and international Arni Ragnarsson (194-87, college: Al.-Huntsville) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keflavik moved-up to eighth place, which they share with KFI and IR. Fjolnir at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Keflavik will face bottom-ranked Tindastoll (#12) in Sauoarkrokur in the next round. Fjolnir will play at home against the league's leader Snaefell (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
