There was no surprise when 16th ranked Mirandola (1-6) was crushed on the road by third ranked Torino (5-2) 82-62 on Thursday. Torino outrebounded Mirandola 35-19 including 24 on the defensive glass. Naturalized Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (210-90) fired 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Claudio Tommasini (190-91) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Torino's coach Stefano Pillastrini used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Michele Venturelli (188-82) produced 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and point guard Jordan Losi (182-80, agency: Two Points) added 11 points, 6 assists and 8 steals respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Torino. They maintain third place with 5-2 record behind leader Treviglio, which they share with Lucca and Bologna. Mirandola lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventeenth position with six games lost. Torino will face Reggio Calabr. (#19) in Reggio Calabria in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Mirandola will play at home against Perugia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
