Regular Season Round 5: Planeta-Univ. - Avtodor 80-75

No shocking result in a game in Ukhta where fourth ranked Planeta-Univ. (3-1) defeated 11th ranked Avtodor (1-3) 80-75 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Planeta-Univ. made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Planeta-Univ. outrebounded Avtodor 44-31 including 28 on the offensive glass. Avtodor was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Vladislav Grushevskiy who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Power forward Aleksandr Zaykin (208-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Four Planeta-Univ. players scored in double figures. point guard Andrey Mateyunas (180-88) produced 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Sergey Toropov (206-89) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Planeta-Univ. moved-up to third place, which they share with Ural Ekaterinb. Avtodor lost third consecutive game. Avtodor at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with three games lost. Planeta-Univ. will face Novosybirsk (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Avtodor will play against Spartak Vidnoye (#15) in Moscow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
