Regular Season Round 7: St Vallier - Bordeaux 93-87
Date: November 3, 2012
Very expected game when 17th ranked Bordeaux (1-6) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Saint Vallier (4-3) 93-87. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 10-point deficit before their 30-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. Saint Vallier made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Saint Vallier outrebounded Bordeaux 40-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American-Ivorian guard Errick Craven (188-83, college: USC) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. American swingman Roy Booker (191-84, college: SE Missouri St.) accounted for 27 points for the winning side. Four Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. Saint Vallier's coach Laurent Pluvy allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Markel Humphrey (198-87, college: Marshall, agency: Three Eye Sports) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Gauthier Darrigand (184-82) added 18 points respectively for Bordeaux in the defeat. Saint Vallier have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Bordeaux lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with six games lost. Saint Vallier will play against higher ranked Aix-Maurienne (#4) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bordeaux will play at home against Chalons-Reims (#7) to get more than just one victory in their record.
