Regular Season Round 6: Polpharma - Anwil 75-85
Date: November 3, 2012
There was a small surprise in Starogard where tenth ranked Anwil (2-4) beat 7th ranked Polpharma (2-4) 85-75. The game was mostly controlled by Anwil. Polpharma was better in third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anwil players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Polpharma's players. Naturalized Bosnian forward Seid Hajric (203-83) notched 22 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Tony Weeden (186-83, college: Chicago St., agency: Three Eye Sports) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) did not help to save the game for Polpharma. The former international forward Lukasz Majewski (199-82) added 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anwil moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Polpharma. Polpharma lost third consecutive game. Anwil will play against Siarka Jezioro (#10) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round. Polpharma will play on the road against Kotwica in Kolobrzeg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
