Regular Season Round 5: Den Helder K. - Groningen 68-55

There was an upset when second-ranked Groningen (4-2) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Den Helder K. (3-3) 68-55 on Saturday. Groningen was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Den Helder K. forced 19 Groningen turnovers. The best player for the winners was international center Jeroen van der List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC, agency: Court Side) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Storm Warren (200-88, college: LSU) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Den Helder K. players scored in double figures. Surinamese forward Sergio de Randamie (201-84, college: Houston, agency: R.H.Consultancy) produced 9 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Jason Dourisseau (196-83, college: Nebraska) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Den Helder K. moved-up to sixth place. Loser Groningen dropped to the third position with two games lost. Den Helder K. will face higher ranked Zwolle (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
