The balance of the San Antonio Spurs continues to be a problem for their opponents this season. The Indiana Pacers faced the Spurs in San Antonio. Spurs defeated the Pacers 101-79. With the win the Spurs are off to the best start in franchise history 4-0. The Pacers even their record to 2-2. The Spurs balance and defense allowed them open up a 20 point lead on 3 different occasions in the first half; the last one was at 45-25 with 3:41 left in the half. The Pacers a playoff team from last year did not panic and went on a 13-2 run to end the half down only down by nine points 47-38. Of the ten players to play in the first half for the Spurs 8 of them scored no one scored more than ten points. Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker were the two Spurs not to score in the first half. George Hill led the way for the Pacer leading them with 12 points. The Pacers got off to very poor shooting in the half at one point were only shooting 21 percent from the floor. The Spurs won the only regular season game last season and the Pacers have never won at the AT&T Center. The Pacers have not won in San Antonio since a 92-82 win on January 4, 2008. In the second half the Spurs used the cushion that they built in the first half to maintain total control of the game. Five Spurs scored double digits points, Dejuan Blair 14, Tim Duncan 14, Danny Green 10, Gary Neal 17 and Stephen Jackson 12. The Spurs bench outscored the Pacers 57-35. Blair and Duncan also led the way on the boards with 11 rebounds each. Hill was not as effective in the second half and only finished with 15 points and 6 assists for the game. Paul George tossed in 14 points. The Pacers made on 27 of 79 shots for a dismal 34 percent for the game. The Spurs will have a 4 game west coast road trip that will start with the Los Angeles Clippers on November 7 and continue with the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trailblazers and end with the Los Angeles Lakers.
