Regular Season Round 6: Logan T. - West Coast 56-71

Date: November 9, 2012
There was a small surprise in Loganholme where seventh ranked West Coast Waves (2-6) defeated 7th ranked Logan Thunder (2-5) 71-56. They outrebounded Logan Thunder 44-16 including a 34-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for New Zealand power forward Lisa Wallbutton (183-86) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). New Zealand forward Antonia Edmondson (181-87) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Emma Langford (188-89, college: Wyoming) replied with 22 points and New Zealand forward Natalie Taylor (182-84, college: SE Missouri St.) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Logan Thunder. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory West Coast Waves went down to eighth position due to points difference. Logan Thunder lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost. West Coast Waves' next round opponent will be higher ranked Dandenong Rangers (#3) at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
