Everything could happen in Winnipeg, MB at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Wesmen and 7th ranked Cougars had identical 1-2 record. This time Wesmen used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Regina, SK 92-74 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Wesmen. Cougars was better in third quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wesmen forced 20 Cougars turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Paul Gareau (201) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Frank Brown (188) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wesmen (2-2) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Calgary. Cougars lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
