Very significant was Sozh Gomel's (#2, 5-1) victory against 4th placed Tsmoki-Minsk II (3-3) 87-61. The game without a history. Sozh Gomel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sozh Gomel forced 31 Tsmoki-Minsk II turnovers. Strangely Tsmoki-Minsk II outrebounded Sozh Gomel 40-28 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Tsmoki-Minsk II helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 6 steals. Ukrainian forward Ivan Kaliayev (201-87) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Sozh Gomel players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Aliaksandr Semianiuk (207-93) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) scored 15 points. Tsmoki-Minsk II's coach Tadas Stockus gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Sozh Gomel have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-1 record behind leader Grodno-93. Tsmoki-Minsk II at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Sozh Gomel are looking forward to face Rubon (#3) in Vitebsk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tsmoki-Minsk II will play on the road against Svisloch in Osipovichi and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
