The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked ratiopharm Ulm (7-2) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by tenth ranked Telekom Baskets (4-3) 107-103. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of ratiopharm Ulm. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jared Jordan (188-84, college: Marist) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the other American import swingman Robert Vaden (196-85, college: UAB) who added 21 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. American center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Per Guenther (185-88) scored 22 points and 6 assists. Five Telekom Baskets and four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. ratiopharm Ulm's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Telekom Baskets moved-up to eighth place, which they share with TBB Trier. ratiopharm Ulm at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Telekom Baskets is looking forward to face Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#11) at home in the next round. ratiopharm Ulm will play against EWE Baskets (#3) in Oldenburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
