Regular Season Round 3: Lirija - Kumanovo 78-64

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Kumanovo 2009 (2-1) in Skopje on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Lirija (1-2) 78-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kumanovo 2009. Strangely Kumanovo 2009 outrebounded Lirija 36-21 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for naturalized Serbian center Toni Simic (210-76) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Dime Tasovski (200-80) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Lirija players scored in double figures. International guard Aleksandar Kostoski (186-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) answered with 27 points and Serbian center Uros Lukovic (212-89) added 9 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Kumanovo 2009. Kumanovo 2009's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lirija left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Kumanovo 2009 at the other side keeps the third position with one game lost. Lirija is looking forward to face league's leader ABA Strumica on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kumanovo 2009 will play against the league's second-placed Feni Indistrija in Kavadarci and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
