Regular Season Round 12: Chomutov - BK Pardubice 76-80

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Levharti Chomutov (3-8) was defeated at home by sixth ranked BK Pardubice (6-4) 80-76. It looked good early as Levharti Chomutov took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BK Pardubice had a 26-16 second period charge getting the lead and Levharti Chomutov was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-80. Levharti Chomutov was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by international forward Petr Bohacik (205-85) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Lithuanian point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88) supported him with 21 points. BK Pardubice's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds by American forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) did not help to save the game for Levharti Chomutov. His fellow American import point guard Showron Glover (180-87) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Levharti Chomutov players scored in double figures. BK Pardubice have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with BK Decin. Levharti Chomutov at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with B&W Opava and Svitavy. BK Pardubice will play against league's second-placed NH Ostrava at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Levharti Chomutov will play against USK Praha (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
