Regular Season Round 15: LA Lakers - San Antonio S. 82-84
Date: November 13, 2012
The San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers were evenly matched throughout Tuesday night's Western Conference showdown. L.A. held a slim lead in the closing seconds, but Danny Green's clutch three-pointer with just nine seconds remaining led the Spurs to a 84-82 win. Los Angeles had a chance to win at the buzzer, but Pau Gasol missed what would have been a game-winning three-pointer with just a few seconds left on the clock. Kobe Bryant typically takes those shots, but the team was unable to find the veteran guard on the final play. It was another frustrating night for what has been a frustrating couple of weeks in L.A. Bryant led the Lakers with 28 points on 12-for-19 shooting. He also dished out eight assists and brought down four rebounds. Dwight Howard chipped in for 13 points and 13 boards, and Pau Gasol racked up another double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Tony Parker had 19 points for San Antonio, and Tim Duncan chipped in with 18 and nine rebounds. The Spurs shot just 38.9 percent from the field, but they seemed to always hit the big shot when they needed to stave off a Lakers run. San Antonio is now 7-1 this season. The Lakers dropped to 3-5.
