Regular Season Round 9: Tln Kalev - Sakalai 55-78

Not a big story in a game in Tallinn where 6th ranked Estonian Tln Kalev (1-6) was rolled over by fourth ranked Lithuanian Sakalai (3-3) 78-55 on Friday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Jokubas Gintvainis (191-94) stepped up and scored 15 points and 4 assists for the winners and guard Paulius Dambrauskas (191-91) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Four Sakalai players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nigerian-American forward Ike Okoye (206, college: Boise St.) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American-Italian guard Marc Campbell (180-86, college: N.Carolina) scored 7 points. Sakalai moved-up to third place, which they share with Valmiera and Juventus. Loser Tln Kalev keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Sakalai will face Nevezis (#4) in Kedainiai in the next round.
