Regular Season Round 12: Usti n/Labem - B&W Opava 65-84
Date: November 18, 2012
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked BK Usti nad Labem (3-9) was crushed at home by twelfth ranked B&W Opava (3-8) 84-65. The game was mostly controlled by B&W Opava. BK Usti nad Labem was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. B&W Opava had a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. The winners were led by the former international guard Ladislav Sokolovsky (200-77) who scored that evening 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Jakub Blazek (203-80) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four B&W Opava players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Brad Reese (199-88, college: Texas Tech) did not help to save the game for BK Usti nad Labem. The former international forward Stefan Licartovsky (196-84) added 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. B&W Opava moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Chomutov and Svitavy. BK Usti nad Labem at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. B&W Opava will play against higher ranked BK Decin (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. BK Usti nad Labem will have a break next round.
