No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Fuerza Regia (13-10) beat 9th ranked Huracanes (11-11) in Monterrey 92-88. It looked good early as Huracanes took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fuerza Regia had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and Huracanes were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 88-92. Fuerza Regia players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-Jamaican guard Oritseweyinmi Efejuku (196-86, college: Providence) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Alonso Izaguirre (200-76) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who recorded 23 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Omar Quintero (183-81, college: S.Nazarene) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Fuerza Regia and four Huracanes players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia maintains seventh position with 13-10 record. Huracanes at the other side keep the ninth place with 11 games lost. Fuerza Regia's next round opponent will be higher ranked Halcones Rojos (#4) in Veracruz and it may be quite challenging game. Huracanes will play against Gigantes (#16).
