Regular Season Round 21: Dallas M. - Golden St.W. 101-105 OT
Date: November 19, 2012
Stephen Curry scored 31 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 105-101 win over the Dallas Mavericks in overtime Monday night at American Airlines Center. The Mavs are now 6-6 on the season going into Wednesday's home game against the New York Knicks. Golden State took the lead for good when David Lee scored inside off a pass from Curry for a 101-99 advantage for the visitors with 32.7 seconds remaining. Shawn Marion then missed a mid-range jumper, and Curry nailed a pair of free throws for a 103-99 lead with 13.9 ticks to go. Other than Curry, the Warriors got 20 points and 12 rebounds from Harrison Barnes, and 17 points from Lee. OJ Mayo scored all 11 of the Mavs' overtime points and finished with 27 points, Chris Kaman contributed 18 points and 17 rebounds, and Troy Murphy added 12 points. The Mavs could have won the game in regulation play, but Vince Carter misfired on a jumper near the buzzer. Darren Collison tied the game at 90-all with 36.1 seconds when he drilled a 17-footer with 36.1. From there, Golden State's Harrison Barnes missed a short jumper inside the key and, following a Warriors' offensive rebound, Klay Thompson missed a wide-open three-pointer, setting the stage for a potential game-winner by Carter. This was the Mavs' third game in four days, and they came out looking sluggish. The Mavs were behind, 23-20, after the first quarter when they were just 8-of-23 from the field while looking completely out of sorts. Chris Kaman led the Mavs with 18 points and a season-high 17 rebounds. Mayo didn't get his first points of the game -- on a pair of free throws -- until 4:08 remained in the first half, but wound up getitng a hot hand late and in overtime. The Mavs trailed, 43-38, at the half. It was their lowest scoring first half of the season, escliping the 39 points they scored in the first half of the Nov. 12 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Kaman got out of the gate great, grabbing seven rebounds in the game's opening four minutes and 10 seconds. Courtesy of: star-telegram.com
