There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (4-6) beat at home 10th ranked Omegna (4-6) 74-62 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Naturhouse Ferrara. Omegna managed to win second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturhouse Ferrara forced 19 Omegna turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Simone Cortesi (196-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) helped adding 8 points and 8 rebounds. Naturhouse Ferrara's coach Alberto Morea allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Stefano Masciadri (200-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Christian Villani (200-82) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Naturhouse Ferrara moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Omegna. Naturhouse Ferrara will meet Chieti (#9) on the road in the next round. Omegna will play against Agrigento and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
