Regular Season Round 9: Rubon - Svisloch 77-63
Date: November 23, 2012
Rather expected game in Vitebsk where 6th ranked Svisloch (3-9) was defeated by third ranked Rubon (8-4) 77-63. The game was mostly controlled by Rubon. Svisloch was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rubon forced 19 Svisloch turnovers. Russian guard Anton Indrikov (193-87) notched 28 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Dmitri Akulich (190-86) supported him with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Akulich is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 19 points and 4 assists by the former international guard Maksim Shustau (188-86) did not help to save the game for Svisloch. Guard Ilya Sharipov (198-91) added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rubon have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-4 record having four points less than leader Grodno-93. Svisloch at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Impuls BGUIR. Rubon will play against league's second-placed Sozh Gomel on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Svisloch will play against Tsmoki-Minsk II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
