There was a minor upset in Ottawa, ON where 4th placed Thunderwolves (1-4) were defeated by fourth ranked Gee-Gees (5-1) 82-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-67. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gee-Gees made 11 blocks. It was a great evening for guard Mehdi Tihani (188) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. International guard Warren Ward (196-89) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Ben Johnson (-88) responded with 16 points and guard Dwayne Harvey scored 6 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gee-Gees have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Thunderwolves lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
