Regular Season Round 10: Orchy - Cognac 82-68

There was a minor upset when much higher ranked Cognac (7-2) lost to fourth ranked Orchesien BC (7-1) in Orchies 68-82 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game without a history. Orchesien BC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Cognac's 34. Orchesien BC forced 19 Cognac turnovers. It was a very good performance for center Olivier Gouez (217-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Serbian power forward Djordje Petrovic (204-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Orchesien BC players scored in double figures. Orchesien BC's coach Philippe Namyst used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian forward Dejan Sencanski (198-84, college: Abil.Christian) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds and center Miguel Buval (208-90) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Cognac. Orchesien BC have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Cognac dropped to the third position with two games lost. Orchesien BC will face Saint Chamond (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cognac will play against Monaco (#10).
