Regular Season Round 11: Lethbridge - Mount Royal 93-73

Rather predictable result in Lethbridge, AB where third ranked Pronghorn (5-3) smashed 6th ranked Mount Royal (2-6) 93-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Pronghorn. Mount Royal was better in fourth quarter 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pronghorn forced 21 Mount Royal turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Mount Royal's players. It was a great evening for center Derek Waldner (201) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Morgan Duce (180) helped adding 20 points and 4 assists. Four Pronghorn players scored in double figures. Forward Nick Loewen (196) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Jalen Gardener (188) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pronghorn moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Mount Royal lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. Pronghorn will have a break next round. Mount Royal will play at home against Huskies (#4) in Saskatoon, SK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
