Regular Season Round 9: TSV Troester - Fraport SKY II 86-72

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked TSV Troester (1-8) won against 3rd placed Fraport Skyliners II (5-4) in Breitenguessbach 86-72 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 45-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for forward Johannes Thiemann (203-94) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). Johannes Richter (206-93) contributed with 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. TSV Troester's coach Jamie Duncan used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Larry Wright (188-87, college: Oakland) answered with 25 points and naturalized Czech Jan Novak (194-92) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Fraport Skyliners II. TSV Troester maintains twelfth place in Group South with 1-8 record. Fraport Skyliners II at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. TSV Troester will face higher ranked TV 1862 Langen (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fraport Skyliners II will play against the league's second-placed Weissenhorn Youngstars (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
