Regular Season Round 11: Laurentian - Laurier 92-63

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Sudbury, ON where second-ranked Golden Hawks (2-3) were crushed by third ranked Voyageurs (5-1) 92-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Voyageurs. Golden Hawks was better in third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Alex Ratte who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 4 assists. Guard Manny Pasquale (183) helped adding 16 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Four Voyageurs players scored in double figures. Guard Maxwell Allin (193) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and center Matthew Chesson (201) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Voyageurs have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Golden Hawks keep the second position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
