No shocking result in a game when third ranked Groningen (8-3) smashed at home 6th ranked Leeuwarden (5-6) 84-63. The game was mostly controlled by Groningen. Leeuwarden was better in third quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for international Jessey Voorn (193-90, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Groningen players scored in double figures. American forward Jerrell Williams (203-88, college: La Salle) answered with 21 points and the other American import forward Samme Givens (195, college: Drexel) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Leeuwarden. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Groningen maintains third place with 8-3 record having just -1 point less than leader Leiden. Leeuwarden at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Den Helder K.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
