Important game to mention about took place in Loganholme. Seventh ranked Logan Thunder (3-6) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 9th ranked Sydney Uni Flames (1-9) 70-69 on Sunday evening. It looked good early as Sydney Uni Flames took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Logan Thunder had a 24-12 second period charge getting the lead and Sydney Uni Flames were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-70. Worth to mention a great performance of New Zealand forward Natalie Taylor (182-84, college: SE Missouri St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international guard Kristen Veal (176-81) who added 2 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. American swingman April Sykes (182-90, college: Rutgers, agency: Two Points) responded with 26 points and international guard Alicia Poto (166-78) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Logan Thunder maintains seventh position with 3-6 record. Sydney Uni Flames lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Logan Thunder will again play against bottom-ranked Sydney Uni Flames (#9) on the road in the next round. Sydney Uni Flames will have a break next round.
