Regular Season Round 12: Matera - Firenze 74-64

Date: November 25, 2012
Nazionale A top team - Matera (10-2) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Firenze (7-4) 74-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Firenze. The game was mostly controlled by Matera. Firenze managed to win second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by power forward Antonio Iannuzzi (207-91, agency: Two Points) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and the former international power forward Massimo Rezzano (203-82) supported him with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Even 22 points by the former international guard Stefano Rabaglietti (190-83, agency: Two Points) did not help to save the game for Firenze. Forward Stefano Spizzichini (202-90) added 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Matera have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-2 record, which they share with Torino. Loser Firenze keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Treviglio. Matera will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Firenze will play against Perugia (#12) and hope to secure a win.
