Regular Season Round 8: Moncton M. - Windsor Exp. 93-88
Date: November 29, 2012
Guard Darren Duncan scored 29 points in his Express debut Thursday but Windsor lost 93-88 against the Moncton Miracles in the National Basketball League of Canada at the Moncton Coliseum. “He definitely helped us,” said Express forward Greg Surmacz, who had 14 points. “We battled for most of the game but we just dug ourselves into a hole.” Duncan, who made 8-of-14 shots from the field against the Miracles, was acquired from the Halifax Rainmen Monday for a third-round draft pick in 2013. After trailing 74-55 after three quarters, Windsor outscored Moncton 33-19 in the fourth quarter. “I think we just have to transfer the scrappiness we had in the fourth quarter and bring that to the start of the game . . . simple as that,” Surmacz said. “I don’t think this team has yet to put together a solid 40 minutes of basketball.” Mike Helms added 14 points and Anthony Johnson had 12 points for the Express (2-6), who have lost three straight games on their eastern road trip. They’ll be in Summerside to face the Storm tonight. Courtesy of: windsorstar.com
