Regular Season Round 30: Golden St.W. - Denver N. 106-105
Date: November 29, 2012
The Golden State Warriors came from behind to knock off the Denver Nuggets, 106-105, in Oracle Arena on Thursday night on TNT. Down 106-103, Nuggets forward Andre Iguodala was fouled shooting a three by Warriors guard Jarrett Jack with 3.4 seconds on the clock and calmly knocked down the first two free throws before missing the third. The Nuggets got the ball back and had more than one opportunity to win the game including a possession with 0.5 seconds left and an Iguodala three-pointer that went in but ended up not counting. Both teams took turns closing halves out on runs. The Nuggets built a nine-point lead after the first half due to outscoring the Warriors by 14 points in the second quarter. But the Warriors returned the favor by going on a 16-7 run to start the fourth and outscoring the Nuggets by nine in the period behind the play of guards Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry. But Warriors forward David Lee was the real story as he could barely miss a shot en route to a monster performance. Lee finished with 31 points on 13-for-15 shooting, nine rebounds and six assists to lead the Warriors, who needed the win to pull even with the Los Angeles Clippers atop the Pacific Division. Curry finished with 20 points, 10 assists and four steals and Thompson added 21 points and nine rebounds on 10-for-19 from the field. Jack added 18 points off the bench. The Nuggets were their normally balanced selves as they put six players in double-figures including 20 and ninerebounds by Danilo Gallinari and 22 points for Iguodala. Ty Lawson (17 points, nine assists), Kenneth Faried (10 points, six rebounds), Corey Brewer (11 points) and Javale McGee (11 points and seven rebounds) were also in double-figures. The Warriors improved to 9-6 while the Nuggets dropped back to .500 at 8-8. Courtesy of: sbnation.com
