Regular Season Round 14: Eagles - Sundsvall 66-71

Date: November 30, 2012
Basketligan top team - Sundsvall Dragons (12-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat ninth ranked White Eagles (4-10) in Stockholm 71-66. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But White Eagles won third quarter 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sundsvall Dragons forced 20 White Eagles turnovers. Icelandic point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern) notched 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American guard Alex Wesby (198-80, college: Temple, agency: R.H.Consultancy) supported him with 18 points and 4 assists. Even 20 points by Serbian guard Nenad Stefanovic (193-85, agency: Beo Basket) did not help to save the game for White Eagles. Serbian forward Aleksandar Micovic (205-84) added 7 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Sundsvall Dragons have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-2 record. Newly promoted White Eagles keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Sundsvall Dragons will play against Norrkoping Dolphins (#4) in Norrkoping in the next round. White Eagles will play on the road against Boras Basket (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
