Regular Season Round 16: Perlas-MRU - Triobet 88-91

A very interesting game took place in Vilnius. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 11th ranked Perlas-MRU (7-9) to tenth ranked Triobet (9-7) 91-88 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Perlas-MRU took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Triobet had a 27-13 second period charge getting the lead and Perlas-MRU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 88-91. Triobet made 30-of-38 charity shots (78.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Perlas-MRU turnovers. 32 personal fouls committed by Perlas-MRU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by forward Vytautas Kruzikas (199-89) who scored that evening 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85) supported him with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Dominykas Domarkas (189-92) did not help to save the game for Perlas-MRU. Forward Antanas Udras (202-92) added 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Triobet moved-up to ninth place, which they share with S.Marciulionio. Perlas-MRU at the other side keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Triobet's next round opponent will be Ezerunas-Karys (#13) in Moletai. Perlas-MRU will play at home against Delikatesas in Joniskis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
