Regular Season Round 14: B&W Opava - Levice 83-55

Date: December 1, 2012
There was a small surprise when tenth ranked B&W Opava (5-9) smashed at home 8th ranked Levice (6-8) 83-55. The game was mostly controlled by B&W Opava. Levice was better in fourth quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. B&W Opava forced 19 Levice turnovers. Levice was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Ladislav Sokolovsky (200-77) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and international guard Jakub Sirina (185-87) supported him with 12 points and 8 assists. Five B&W Opava players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 9 rebounds by Slovenian center Salih Nuhanovic (208-82) did not help to save the game for Levice. American guard David Kyles (190-89, college: Wichita St.) added 15 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Levice's coach Oleg Meleschenko already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. B&W Opava have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain tenth position with 5-9 record. Levice at the other side dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with USK Praha and Chomutov.
