A very close game took place in Dniprodzerzhynsk between DniproAzot and Hoverla. Eleventh ranked DniproAzot (6-10) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Hoverla (11-6). DniproAzot managed to escape with a 2-point win 94-92 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Hoverla. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 30-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Ronald Davis (190-82, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) stepped up and scored 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Travis Peterson (208-85, college: Samford, agency: Edge Sports) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five DniproAzot and four Hoverla players scored in double figures. DniproAzot moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Mykolaiv. Loser Hoverla keeps the fifth position with six games lost. DniproAzot will meet at home league's second-placed Budivelnyk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hoverla will play against Mykolaiv in Mykolaiv and hope to secure a win.
