Not a big story in a game in Ukhta where 13th ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (2-7) was defeated by tenth ranked Planeta-Univ. (5-4) 99-85 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Planeta-Univ.. Sojuz Zaretchny was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Planeta-Univ. forced 20 Sojuz Zaretchny turnovers. American forward David Loubeau (203-89, college: Texas A&M) fired 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward James Ellisor (195-90, college: Bemidji St.) chipped in 23 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Planeta-Univ. players scored in double figures. Planeta-Univ. will face league's second-placed Universitet-Yugra in Surgut in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sojuz Zaretchny will play at home against Spartak Vidnoye (#15) in Moscow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
